I recently found this article I wrote while participating in a student project at the NABJ Convention in 2003. Gerald Boyd spoke for the first time since stepping down as managing editor of the New York Times after reporter Jayson Blair was caught plagiarizing and fabricating stories. It was the biggest story of the convention and I gained some short-lived notoriety after being chosen to cover it. It was my first break as a journalist!
